SHOPPING AND THINGS

For some the trip began a week early, with two “pleasurable” trips to Sainsburys in the same day. Another during the week produced a large supply of food before the main shopping on Friday. All packed in boxes it looked like enough to feed an army – which was fortunate – it had to.

But then the minibus had to be collected, and the polypin, and then Phil arrived. As soon as the food was in the oven, Mark arrived. Eventually the meal was eaten and we went for a tour of Lancaster, including the van hire company, the Wagon & Horses and the station, where we discovered that the 22.28 train would arrive at 12.00ish. We went home and waited. Returning to the station the ETA was adjusted to 1.30, so back home and opened the bottle of whisky. At last we got to the station at the same time as the train and met the London four. A bit of gossiping, and cups of tea followed before bed.

Next day I packed, provided tea/coffee in bed for the others and got breakfast. Then to the station (again!) to meet Sarah. Eventually the minibus left and I went to Sainsburys (again!). Next I went to Carnforth station (another one) and met Louise and Lizzy.
